Le compagnie di assicurazione auto sono davvero tantissime e sempre più utenti, per risparmiare, scelgono di stipulare un contratto di polizza assicurativa on-line, tuttavia, bisogna tener presente che molto spesso si rischia di incorrere in vere e proprie truffe, purtroppo all’ordine del giorno sul web. In particolare, è meglio evitare di affidarsi a quelle che arrivano attraverso le notifiche delle App di messaggistica. Le migliori offerte sono quelle che arrivano via mail, ovvero, attraverso canali istituzionali. Tuttavia, le mail non sono esenti da truffe; per evitare di incorrere in questo pericolo è bene controllare sempre l’indirizzo email da cui la missiva è arrivata e confrontarlo con il sito dell’operatore: laddove ci fossero link allegati, è sempre consigliabile non cliccarci sopra.
Meglio controllare poi che siano specificati gli identificativi della compagnia assicurativa che ha inviato la proposta, stiamo parlando del numero dell’iscrizione nel registro degli intermediari assicurativi e della presenza di un indirizzo PEC.
Un altro utile modo per controllare la veridicità del contenuto della email è quello di inviare a propria volta una email, in cui chiedere se effettivamente l’offerta proviene dalla compagnia assicurativa in questione. Si può, inoltre, attraverso i dati presenti sulla email, fare una veloce ricerca sul web per capire se esiste o meno la compagnia mittente. Da evitare assolutamente i metodi di pagamento che non siano tracciabili, perché in questo caso si potrebbero perdere ulteriori soldi, subendo una clonazione della carta.
In che modo avvengono le truffe online
Come anticipato, le truffe sulle assicurazioni online avvengono molto spesso attraverso canali non istituzionali. Il primo metodo utilizzato e forse anche quello più diffuso sono i social network o le app di messaggistica istantanea. Purtroppo, i truffatori, fanno affidamento sul fatto che, un po’ per la convenienza dell’offerta, un po’ perché magari qualche utente non è esattamente pratico di tecnologia, qualcuno possa effettivamente rispondere e cadere nella trappola.
C’è poi da sottolineare che le polizze online più soggette a truffa sono quelle che fanno riferimento alle assicurazioni temporanee, generalmente usate per le moto, più soggette a stagionalità. Quindi occorre fare molta attenzione a eventuali messaggi su app di messaggistica istantanea, ma anche via mail, sospette: meglio controllare sempre che la compagnia assicurativa esista e che sia iscritta al registro unico degli intermediari assicurativi, se non si trova il loro nome nell’elenco, quella compagnia non esiste e non può assolutamente stipulare polizze di nessun tipo.
