The culture of business and innovation portrayed by a photographic exposition: the joint project of Bergamo and Brescia fotogallery video

From the 1st of April until the 9th of July the exhibitions Bergamo Brescia Cultura d’impresa. Storie di innovazione in fotografia will take place at Museo della fotografia Sestrini in Bergamo and Spazio Fondazione Negri of Brescia

Two exhibitions, one project: Bergamo and Brescia celebrate, with a photographic exposition, the culture of business and innovation.
It’s a new project, stemmed from an idea of SIAD Fondazione Sestini, which involves institutions and foundations between the two cities, Bergamo and Brescia, Italian Capital of Culture 2023.
From the 1st of April until the 9th of July the exhibitions Bergamo Brescia Cultura d’impresa. Storie di innovazione in fotografia will take place at Museo della fotografia Sestrini in Bergamo and Spazio Fondazione Negri of Brescia. The core of the initiative is to tell the centennial history of innovation practices and the link between workers, businesses and the social dimension of work.

“This exhibition is the result of the shared commitment between five partner organizations (Fondazione Legler, Fondazione Dalmine, Fondazione Negri, Musil, Cooperativa Coclea) and it has more than a year of work behind – Roberta Frigeni, scientific director of Museo delle storie di Bergamo, explains –. The project discloses to the public the richness of its archival heritage and provides to younger generations the instruments to interpret the present through the knowledge of the past”.
“Our know-how emerges from the photos: tradition and innovation, connection with the territory, attention to human capital, permanent striving for growth and development, but also dedication and endeavour” points out Roberto Sestini, president of SIAD. Mauro Negri, president of Fondazione Negri, adds: “The project overcomes the differences by highlighting the similarities of our common business culture”.

Giorgio Gori, mayor of Bergamo, and Emilio del Bono, mayor of Brescia agree upon the leading role of the project in the process of “growing together”, in a year, 2023, in which, for the first time, two cities will share the title of Italian Capital of Culture. Nadia Ghisalberti, Councillor for Culture of the Municipality of Bergamo, emphasizes the effectiveness of the medium of photography: “a new, visual, impactful vehicle, suitable for the general public”.

Bergamo Brescia Cultura d’impresa includes a section dedicated to 4.0, conceived thanks to the collaboration of Confindustria Bergamo, Confindustria Brescia and other 39 companies which chose a photo each. This theme is enhanced by Fondazione Musil and Cooperativa Coclea, which made available the pictures of the project La Fabbrica Intelligente, set up by the photographer Luca Campigotto.

Marco Ghisalberti, CEO of Fondazione Bergamo nella Storia thanks all the enterprises that took part in the project, allowing the creation of a network of partnerships, including cultural institutions, associations and private organizations. “Bergamo Brescia Cultura d’impresa. Storie di innovazione perfectly realizes the essence of the enlightened city” says Laura Castelli vice mayor and Councillor for Culture of the Municipality of Brescia.

The section concerning landscapes, Paesaggi, will have a branch in Dalmine where images from the archive Fondazione Dalmine and of the photographer Giovanni Hänninen will be displayed. Carolina Lussana, vice president of Fondazione Dalmine is glad to contribute to the project because she considers it as an opportunity to explain the impact of the company Tenaris on business culture in Bergamo and Brescia.

Among the companies that provided the photos one is Brembo spa which participates in the project with a photo depicting the Formula E brake caliper. The history of Brembo is imbued with entrepreneurial culture devoted to innovation.
